20th Year Anniversary!
Maverick Movie Awards thanks you for your support for the last two decades.
Established in 2004, Maverick Movie Awards has only gotten bigger and bigger over the last few decades. It’s had many humble moments – supporting many films and filmmakers that no one has heard of… and the entire team behind this event is still, as it has always has been, a dedicated group of independent filmmakers and film lovers working through these submissions with the core concept of “What makes indie film a maverick exercise?”
We look for the Maverick in your films. The actor in the background. The moment of dedication a sole cameraman put into adjusting the light in a dark scene. A camera angle that’s unusual and part of a director’s vision. So consider this an invitation – come and show us your maverick. Show us your passion!
– Love, Team Maverick
“I am so glad to have submitted and been selected into MMA. A great choice and truly a dynamic encouragement to us. I hope I have the privilege again. All gratitude and thanks to you, Charlie, and your judges.”
Stephen Keep Mills – Director of “Love is not Love”, 2021
“Being a part of the MMA is always an honor. I love submitting new work to them since my first feature film, Fairview St., 10 years ago.”
Actor and Director Michael McCallum, 2019
“If you’re wondering if you should submit, the answer is: Yes!”
– Moviemaker Magazine, 2013
“One thing is clear, the festival circuit has to be taken back for those it was originally meant to serve: filmmakers and audiences. MMA is a group whose mission is so in line with what needs to be done in this ever-changing landscape.”
Sandy Cioffi – Director of “Sweet Crude”, 2009
